Puff Pastry Rolls with Ham and Cheese in a Casserole

There's nothing more delicious than a rich roll of crispy warm puff pastry, filled with mozzarella cheese and ham, topped with garlic butter and parsley, all made in a casserole. This simple dish is very quick to bake in no more than 25 minutes, making it ready for any gathering.

  • 1 egg, for brushing
  • 1 cup butter, melted, for brushing
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped, for brushing
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, dry for brushing
  • 1/2 kilos puff pastry
  • flour, for spreading
  • 10 slices turkey deli ham
  • 10 slices Mozzarella cheese

  • Preheat the oven to 200° C.
  • To brush, in a bowl, mix the egg with the melted butter, garlic, and dry parsley, mix and set aside.
  • For the roll, on a clean floured surface, roll out your puff pastry to 3 mm thick and place it on wax paper. Using a knife, square the dough, place the slices of ham and cheese, roll it up, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • Cut into rolls about an inch thick, place them in a casserole, brush with the butter, and bake for 25 minutes or until the puff pastry is crispy.
  • Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.
