Hummus and Cheese Sandwich

This hummus recipe is a traditional recipe, but with the only change being the addition of a bit of fresh thyme that goes very well with the cheese.

  • 1/2 cups American cheese
  • thyme

  • Mix all the ingredients (the chickpeas with a tablespoon of tahini, a roasted garlic clove, a splash of lemon, a bit of cumin, and a pinch of salt)
  • Blend the entire mixture and that's it, we have the hummus ready.
  • Meanwhile, we heat a pan to toast the bread, and we will add some chopped fresh thyme to the hummus
  • We will drizzle some oil on the slices of bread, toast them in the pan, and just when they are almost done, we will add the cheese to let it melt.
  • On the other side of the sandwich, we will spread hummus, drizzle a bit of oil, combine it with the cheese, and return it to the pan for one more minute on each side until it is nicely browned.
