Oven-Baked Panela Tacos

Delicious oven-baked panela tacos are made with corn tortillas and panela. A special cream is prepared, and they are made one by one in a baking dish. Once the first layer is finished, they are topped with cream and mozzarella cheese and placed in the oven, then they are drizzled with the cream.

  • 20 corn tortillas
  • 1 panela cheese , in strips
  • Mozzarella cheese, grated to taste
  • cream , to taste
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • salt , and pepper to taste

  • Roast the tomatoes, then blend them with garlic, onion, and add to a pot. Next, add the cream, and if a thinner consistency is desired, add milk. Blend a bit, then add salt and pepper to taste. Heat on low without boiling, then remove from heat.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, grease a baking dish with butter, and place the rolled tacos with panela one by one. Add some of the prepared cream on top and the cheese, and put them in the oven until melted.
  • Once ready, leftover cream can be added to each serving of tacos, and it's ready to serve.
