Spicy Tamales

  • 1 liter tomato purée
  • 1/4 white onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 400 grams Hunt´S® Hunt Wings sauce
  • 1 cup chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1/2 cups margarine
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 500 grams masa dough
  • 10 corn husks, soaked in hot water and drained

  • For the filling, boil the liter of tomato puree, onion, garlic, and Hunt's sauce. Blend with ½ cup of the water used for boiling. Season with two teaspoons of Hunt's sauce. Add the chicken and set aside.
  • Beat the margarine until creamy, add the baking powder and the masa gradually. Mix very well.
  • Assemble the tamales by placing 3 tablespoons of masa and 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling on each leaf. Fold the tamales and place them in a steamer. Cook for one hour.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes and serve.
