  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 envelope dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups water, warm
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 3 slices fresh Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cups salami

  • Mix the flour, yeast, salt, sugar, warm water, and oil until you have a smooth and homogeneous dough.Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rest for 60 minutes or until it doubles in size.
  • Roll out the dough on a flat surface with a little flour and then place it on a greased baking tray.
  • Add the tomato sauce, cheese, and salami to one half of the dough. Fold it in half and seal it, forming a braid on the edge. Brush with a little olive oil and bake for 10 minutes at 200 °C or until well cooked.
  • Serve the cheese and salami calzone and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
