  • vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1/2 cups potato, in small cubes, cooked
  • 1/2 cups carrot, in small cubes, cooked
  • 1 cup tomato purée
  • salt and pepper
  • corn husks
  • 1 kilo masa dough
  • sour cream
  • cheese, shredded

  • Sauté the onion and garlic in a pan with a bit of oil for 2 minutes, then add the ground beef and cook for 3 minutes or until it starts to change color. Incorporate the potatoes, carrots, tomato puree, salt, and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes or until all ingredients are well cooked. Set aside and let cool.
  • Place a bit of tamal dough on a previously hydrated corn husk, add some picadillo, and close it.
  • Place the tamales in a steamer, cover, and cook for 45 minutes or until fully cooked.
  • Serve the picadillo tamales and accompany with cream and cheese.
