Jamaican Tinga

  • 2 cups hibiscus flower
  • water
  • vegetable oil
  • 2 cups onion, filleted
  • 1 cup white cabbage, filleted
  • salt
  • 1 package Doña María® Tinga Sauce
  • tostadas
  • refried beans
  • sour cream
  • lettuce
  • avocado

  • Boil the hibiscus flower in enough water for 25 minutes. Drain and reserve.
  • Pour the oil into a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions for 3 minutes, then add the cabbage and hibiscus. Season with salt and cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Pour the Salsa Para Tinga Doña María® sauce and cook for 10 minutes or until the tinga is ready.
  • Serve the Jamaican tinga and accompany with toast, refried beans, cream, lettuce and avocado.
