8 cups chicken broth
1/4 cups soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
500 grams japanese noodle, udon type
2 cups fresh chives, chopped
shichimi, to taste

Bring to a boil in a large pot over high heat the chicken broth, soy sauce, sugar, and salt.
In another pot, cook the noodles in boiling water until soft.
Add the noodles to the broth and serve the soup. Sprinkle fresh green onions over each serving of soup with noodles.
