American Tuna Salad

This salad is my aunt Pilar Bailey's recipe; it contains short pasta, tuna, onions, and celery. It is excellent as a main dish or as a side due to the variety of ingredients it contains. It can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.

  • Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente; drain it and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking. Place it in a deep bowl to make it easier to mix the remaining ingredients.
  • Finely chop the onion and the previously washed celery.
  • Drain the tuna, shred it well, and set it aside.
  • Mix the tuna, onion, and celery with the pasta. Finally, add the mayonnaise. Mix well until everything is integrated.
  • Adjust the salt and add more if necessary.
