Homemade Organic Jam

This is a homemade organic jam and can be made from practically any fruit. It is a delicious and healthy jam perfect for spreading on bread to accompany breakfast.

  • 1 kilo fruit
  • 300 grams sugar, (normal or brown sugar)
  • 2 limes, or 1 orange
  • 2 sticks cinnamon

  • Chop the fruit you want to make the jam from.
  • Add the fruit to a saucepan along with 300 g of sugar.
  • Add the zest of 2 lemons or 1 orange to the saucepan.
  • Mix and over high heat, caramelize the sugar and cook the fruit a bit until it starts to boil slightly.
  • Lightly brown the cinnamon sticks.
  • Once it starts to boil and the sugar is slightly caramelized, reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring/whisking a bit to prevent burning.
  • After 10 minutes, the mixture will obtain a slightly darker color. At this point, let it cool, and you will have homemade jam.
