Pomodoro Sauce

The recipe for pomodoro sauce is an authentic Italian tomato sauce recipe. It can be used to dress any type of Italian pasta, to prepare pizzas, lasagna, and any other Italian recipe that requires tomato sauce.

  • 1/4 cups olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 celeries
  • 5 leaves basil
  • 1 kilo red beefsteak tomato
  • 1 pinch table salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper powder

  • Finely chop the onion, carrot, and celery
  • Finely chop the basil
  • Put the oil in a saucepan over low heat
  • Add all the chopped ingredients to the saucepan
  • Chop the tomato
  • Add it to the saucepan and crush it
  • Reduce the heat and let it cook for 15 minutes
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
