Traditional Cranberry Sauce

Enjoy this delicious cranberry sauce, as it is perfect to pair with your turkey or a loin. This holiday sauce has a sweet flavor but is full of aromas thanks to the spices.

  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cups red wine
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt
  • pepper

  • Pour the cranberry juice, red wine, and balsamic vinegar into a saucepan. Cook for 5 minutes to reduce the acidity.
  • Add the honey, ginger, cranberry, and cinnamon stick. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes to reduce the cranberry sauce.
  • Add ½ cup of the sauce to the cornstarch bowl and dissolve to avoid lumps when adding to the sauce. Add to the sauce and mix.
  • Cook for 5 more minutes, season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Serve the cranberry sauce over a turkey breast and enjoy!
