Cactus Sandwiches

Recipe for Baby Cactus Filled with Cheese and Breaded with Seeds

  • 10 nopales, baby
  • 50 grams wheat bran
  • 50 grams oats
  • 2 eggs, smoothies
  • 5 balls Mozzarella cheese
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 50 grams flour
  • 1/2 cups sunflower oil

  • Clean the cactus pads well. Shred a bit of mozzarella cheese over 5 of the cactus pads and cover with the other five, securing each sandwich with two toothpicks.
  • In a food processor, grind a little of the oat bran, salt, pepper
  • Dip the cactus pads in egg, then in a bit of flour, and finally in the seed mixture.
  • Fry a little in a pan with a splash of oil.
