Chickpeas with Tomato

With this recipe, you will prepare delicious chickpeas with tomato; the tomato sauce gives a very special flavor to the dish and it is combined with a bit of chorizo.

  • 250 grams chickpeas legumes La Asturiana®
  • 1 carrot
  • 80 Spanish chorizo
  • 2 leeks
  • 100 grams deli ham, cured
  • salt

  • 5 tomatoes, for the sauce
  • 1 onion, for the sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar , for the sauce

  • Soak the chickpeas overnight in warm salted water. The next day, rinse the chickpeas under cold running water.
  • Cook the chickpeas in a pressure cooker with boiling water, salt, two leeks, and a carrot. All the vegetables should be peeled and cut into pieces.
  • In a saucepan, sauté the onion and garlic in oil, then add the chopped tomato, a pinch of sugar, and salt, and let it cook for 20 minutes.
  • Blend and strain the tomato sauce and set aside. Sauté the chorizo and the ham cut into thin slices.
  • Add the chickpeas to this sauté, stir, and then add the tomato sauce.
  • Let it rest so that the flavors can blend, and serve.
