Easy Vegetable Tempura

Learn to make tempura like a professional with this super simple technique and with ingredients you surely have at home. These soft and crispy tempura vegetables are accompanied by a delicious chipotle dressing!

  • 1 green bell pepper, in thick strips
  • 1 pumpkin, in thick strips
  • 8 button mushrooms, in halves
  • 1/2 onions, in large squares
  • 2 carrots, in thick strips
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup beer
  • vegetable oil

  • Mix the flour with the cornstarch, the egg yolk, garlic salt, and pepper; stir until all ingredients are combined.
  • Gradually add the beer while continuing to mix, to avoid lumps.
  • Coat the sliced vegetables with the previously prepared mixture and fry in hot oil. Drain the vegetables on a paper towel on a tray.
  • Serve on a plate and accompany with chipotle dressing.
