Falafel Made with Yogurt

This recipe is the classic Middle Eastern falafel recipe but with a special twist as it includes Greek-style yogurt. Try this falafel recipe made with yogurt and surprise everyone.

  • 5 ounces potato , peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red onion , finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, mashed
  • 1/2 cups FAGE® Total 0% greek style yogurt
  • 14 ounces canned chickpea, drained
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
  • salt , and ground black pepper

  • Boil water with a pinch of salt.
  • Place the potatoes and cook until softened.
  • Place 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan, add the chopped onion and garlic.
  • Fry until they are translucent.
  • Drain the potatoes, add the onion and garlic mixture.
  • Mash until smooth.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Form small patties with clean hands and shape them.
  • Add the remaining oil to the pan and cook over low heat until crispy and golden brown on the outside.
  • Flip to brown on both sides.
  • Serve with FAGE® Total 0% Greek Style Yogurt or hot sauce.
