The classic way to make mashed potatoes in France. It is a very simple recipe and has the peculiarity that the potatoes are mashed with a fork, hence the name of this traditional French dish.

1 kilo potato
2 cups whipping cream
150 grams unsalted butter
pepper

Cook the potato in salted water until it is soft (approximately 60 minutes).
Drain and vigorously mash the potato with a fork.
Boil the cream with salt and pepper and add to the potato.
Mix and heat.
Finish by adding the butter and mixing.
