2 cups flor de mayo beans
5 cups water

1 head garlic

4 tablespoons lard
2 cuaresmeño chiles

Soak the beans in a bowl with water for 24 hours. Drain and set aside.
Cook the beans over medium heat with water, onion, garlic, and salt in a clay pot. Cook for 1 hour.
In a skillet, heat the lard and fry the chiles for 5 minutes, until they are toasted.
Add the hot lard and chiles, and cook for 20 more minutes until they start to thicken slightly.
Serve in a deep plate and enjoy with hot tortillas.
