Sweet Potato Fries

These sweet potato fries are very similar to French fries but with less fat. Sweet potatoes have very healthy properties, and cooked this way, kids will surely love them. They are also a flavorful and original side dish.

  • 500 grams sweet potato, peeled and cut into slices or pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

  • Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into 12 mm thick slices. Then, cut the slices into sticks of 12 mm thickness (they should look like French fries).
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (400 F), place a baking sheet inside the oven for 5 minutes.
  • Place the sweet potato in a large bowl and coat with oil and cumin. Mix well.
  • Put the sweet potato on the preheated baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes. Every 10 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven and stir well.
  • Once the sweet potato fries are golden and soft, remove them from the oven.
  • Sprinkle the sweet potato with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, a little pepper, and chopped cilantro.
