Rice with Shrimp and Ginger

Delicious shrimp rice with a special touch of ginger, highly recommended.

  • 1 cup rice
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 onions, chopped
  • 1/4 shrimp, fresh
  • 2 onions
  • 1 sprig parsley, or cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon white wine
  • ginger
  • chicken broth, or powdered tomato to taste

  • Prepare the rice without salt and without seasonings.
  • Blend the garlic cloves with the oil and the ginger [the amount of ginger depends on personal taste as it is a bit strong; for those who haven't tried it, about two tablespoons is typically used in this dish].
  • Fry the chopped onion with butter and gradually add the mixture of garlic and ginger.
  • Add a little chicken or tomato broth; the green onions are chopped with a bit of their green tail which adds a lot of flavor, and the shrimp, cilantro, or parsley are added as well. Let it season for about five minutes over low heat, add a little more salt if needed, then add the white wine and remove from heat.
  • Gradually add the rice to the mixture with the shrimp, being careful not to stir too much. Cover and let it warm up, and it's ready to enjoy your shrimp rice.
