Gratin Vegetables

Delicious and tasty gratin vegetables for a filling and healthy side dish. It is recommended not to serve more than one portion.

  • 1 broccoli, large
  • 1 cauliflower, large
  • 1 onion, cut into cubes
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups cow's milk
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 10 walnuts, chopped
  • 2/3 cups cheddar cheese
  • salt, and pepper to taste

  • Wash, disinfect, and cut the broccoli and cauliflower into medium pieces.
  • Boil water in a deep container. Once the water is boiling, add the vegetables for 1 minute. Drain the water and set aside.
  • Beat the egg, dissolve the cornstarch in half a cup of milk. Heat the rest of the milk with the onion over medium heat and add the cornstarch.
  • Remove from heat and add the grated cheddar cheese, the beaten egg, the vegetables, and half of the breadcrumbs.
  • Season everything with salt and pepper to taste and pour it all into a previously greased glass baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the rest of the breadcrumbs and the walnuts. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes.
