Simple Chiles en Nogada

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 2 green apples, in cubes
  • 1 can tomato purée
  • 1/2 cups seedless raisin
  • 8 Poblano chiles, roasted, peeled, without veins
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 100 grams Philadelphia® cream cheese
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, peeled and toasted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon powder
  • 1 pomegranate
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic; sauté, stirring frequently.
  • Add the meat; cook for 5 min.; drain the fat. Incorporate the tomato sauce; cook over medium-low heat for 10 min, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the raisins and chopped apple. Season to taste. Set aside and let the mixture cool.
  • Stuff the chiles with the mixture; place them in a baking dish and cover.
  • Bake the chiles for 20 to 25 min. or until they are completely hot.
  • Meanwhile, blend the milk, cream cheese, walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon until you get a homogeneous mixture. Just before serving, drizzle the chiles with the sauce you prepared; sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top.
