Nutritious Chicken Broth

One of the secrets of chicken broth is to obtain all the minerals and vitamins from chicken and vegetables thanks to a light boil for a very long period.

  • 2 yellow onion, cut into quarters
  • 6 carrots, cut into thirds
  • 1 leek, cut into thirds
  • 1 bunch celery, cut into thirds
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 6 sprigs thyme
  • 12 garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1 ginger, cut in half
  • 2 leaves bay
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 chicken, organic
  • 2 liters water

  • All the vegetables are washed and placed in a large pot with the chicken.
  • They are covered with water and all the other ingredients are added.
  • Heat over high heat until it starts to boil, then lower the heat and cook over very low heat for 4 hours.
  • Strain the broth and place it in a dish. It is seasoned with salt. Once cooled it can be stored in the refrigerator or frozen for the rest of the week.
  • The chicken is removed from the broth and shredded, this can be added to the broth at the time of serving or it can be used for other recipes.
  • The vegetables are still removed from the broth and can be minced and used for other recipes.
