Onion Cream

Try this delicious onion cream; it's perfect to start any meal, and your whole family will love it.

  • 3 yellow onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon chicken broth

  • Slice the onion and chop the thyme.
  • Place butter, oil, onion slices, thyme, garlic, sliced shallots, and sugar on a baking tray. Bake at 200°C until the onion is golden.
  • Add one cup of broth to the tray and return to the oven until it comes to a boil. Blend with the remaining broth and cream.
  • In a separate saucepan, heat butter with flour and pour in the cream. Season and let it boil until it thickens.
