450 grams frozen peas
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 turnips, peeled and chopped
2 carrots, peeled and chopped
2 sprigs celery
1 onion, medium chopped
250 grams smoked ham
8 cups water
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper

In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat and sauté the turnip, carrots, celery, and onion for 10 minutes. Stir constantly to prevent burning.
Add the peas, ham, water, salt, and pepper and continue cooking until it boils.
Reduce the heat, cover, and let the soup cook for 45 minutes.
Blend the soup in batches and return to the pot. Serve.
