Warm Pea Soup

This soup is a classic that everyone loves and warms us on a cold day. A very nice recipe for your kids to eat vegetables.

2 cups peas, or frozen
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 carrots, finely chopped
2 sprigs celery
1 onion, finely chopped
8 cups water
1 leaf bay
pepper , to taste

In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the carrots, celery, and onion, and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the peas, water, bay leaf, salt, and pepper, and continue heating until it boils.
Reduce to low heat, cover the pot, and cook for 45 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf from the soup and serve.
