How to make classic frosting

Frosting is the main ingredient for achieving beautiful decoration on a cake; there are different flavored frostings: vanilla, cream cheese, or chocolate. I'm sharing my secret so you know how to make classic frosting.

Beat the shortening until smooth.

Add the vanilla.

Add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, ensuring to scrape down what has stuck to the sides of the bowl.

If you want it to be lighter, add corn syrup, milk, or water until you achieve the desired consistency.

If you want your frosting to be colored, add vegetable dye at this point.

Cover it with a damp cloth until you use it.
