3 Ways to Peel an Orange

The orange is one of the most popular fruits; it is sweet, acidic, and contains a lot of juice. Sometimes it can be difficult to eat due to the thickness of its peel. We present three very easy ways to cut an orange; you won't believe how easy it will be to peel an orange with this step-by-step guide. It’s perfect for when you need orange segments in a recipe or simply to enjoy this delicious fruit.

Step by Step

1
Orange Supremes
2
Following the contour of the orange, remove the peel, making sure to take off all the white part between the peel and the fruit.
3
With one hand, hold the orange and with the other hand, hold the knife. It’s necessary to have a bowl handy. If you observe the fruit, it is divided into segments, and between each segment, there is a white skin. With the knife, cut each segment, being careful not to cut into the white part (the white part should remain on the fruit). Repeat this operation until you have extracted all the supremes from the orange.
4
Peeled Orange
5
Insert the back of a spoon between the pulp and the peel to detach the peel from the pulp. Repeat this step on the other half of the orange.
6
Once the peel is separated from the pulp, rotate the peel to extract it from the pulp. Repeat this operation with the other half.
7
Use a knife to remove the white skin covering the fruit.
8
Orange Segments
9
At one end of the orange, make a cut (aiming for the cut to be between the intersection of two segments) halfway into the orange.
10
With your hands, separate the orange to obtain a row of segments.
