Coconut bread

It is a delicious sweet coconut bread to accompany coffee or tea, I recommend it a lot.


20 portions
  • 1 kilo flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 on yeast
  • 1 kilo vegetable shortening
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 grams coconut
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 cans condensed milk
  • 1 stick butter


Dry ingredients are added in a bowl: flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, yeast. They mix.
Then add butter and butter and add, then add the eggs, vanilla.
Knead until the dough is removed from our hands, cover it with a cloth so that it rests and does not dry out for at least 45 minutes. Meanwhile we prepare the candy.
In a pan add the butter and sugar, and incorporate well add the milk and with a balloon whisk add a little air and add the coconut we leave a couple of minutes and remove from the heat and reserve.
Since the dough is ready we make some balls according to the size they want, we spread them with a roll and when ready we turn it over and add the coconut candy and cover it with another omelette and seal either with the fingertips or with a fork and another portion of coconut candy is added and it is ready to bake.
Preheat the oven to 130ºC, put it on a tray to bake the pieces and go to the oven for 30 minutes at the top and a couple of minutes at the bottom of the oven and ready to eat.


You can put them in a center table dish and sprinkle grated coconut around.


If you add mashed sugar at the top, it is even richer.
