Ingredients

8 portions
  • 2 1/4 cups Flour for Gamesa® Hot Cakes
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest
  • 1/2 cups butter, cold cut into pieces
  • 1 cup cranberry
  • 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon milk, to varnish the scones before baking
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, to sprinkle at the end

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 425 Fahrenheit or 220 Celsius.
Mix flour for hot cake, sugar, and orange zest in a bowl. Add the cold butter cut into cubes and with two knives or with the hands form a dough. Add the cranberries and gradually add the milk, moving with a fork until everything is moist.
Put the previous mixture on a floured surface and knead 10-12 times to form a dough that does not separate. (Note: if you amass more the scones will be too hard for you).
Form a ball with the dough and crush it until it has a thickness of 3.5 cm. Cut it into 8 slices as if it were a pizza. Transfer the slices to the previously greased tray leaving a space between them as they will increase their size.
Brush the top part with the milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

TIPS

You can replace the orange zest with lemon zest and the blueberries with blueberries and they are very good.
