Learn how to make homemade churros with this recipe that combines very common flavors in Mexico, a crispy texture and a smooth filling. These cheese-filled churros are easier to make than you might think, and you won't regret making them. For dessert or for breakfast or snack, you have to try these Mexican churros.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 1 cup Water, for the mass
  • 1 teaspoon salt, for the mass
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, for the mass
  • 1 cup butter, for the mass
  • 150 grams flour, for the mass
  • 4 San Juan® Eggs, for the mass
  • 1/2 cups guava, seedless, for sweet
  • 1 cup piloncillo, granulated, for sweet
  • 1/2 cups Water, for the sweet
  • 1 raja cinnamon, for the sweet
  • 1 piece (if it appears in the ingredient) star anise, for the sweet
  • 2 cups cream cheese, at room temperature for the filling
  • 1/4 cups powdered sugar, for the filling
  • enough sugar, mixed with cinnamon, to decorate

Preparation

Heat water, salt, sugar and melt the butter in a saucepan; When it is boiling, add the flour and beat vigorously with a balloon until it is perfectly incorporated for 5 minutes. Chill and add the pieces of Egg San Juan® one by one, while continuing to beat. Reservation.
Make a duya with a bottle cap: Make a star cut and cut the first quarter of the bottle. Use the duya that you made with a plastic bag and empty the dough for churros.
Heat plenty of oil and cook the churros; cut with scissors to the desired size. Fry each churro for about 5 minutes until it is fully cooked and you get the desired color. When they are still hot, sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon together.
For guava honey, cook the guavas in a pot with the water, the piloncillo, the cinnamon and the star anise; Boil for 10 minutes until light honey is made.
Beat the cream cheese with the icing sugar until you have a homogeneous mixture. Place in a resealable bag, trim the tip of the bag, and set aside.
Cut one end of the churros and fill with the help of the bag or sleeve, accompany with the guava honey. You can decorate the plate with guava and peppermint. It is time to enjoy!

PRESENTATION

Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon; decorate with guava and mint.

TIPS

Get a hooded jacket the size you want your churros to be and use it as a duya; it is very important to add the egg once the dough is cold and little by little.
