5 portions
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cups margarine
  • 4 tablespoons yeast
  • 1/2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cups wheat flour, for the layer
  • 3/4 cups powdered sugar, for the layer
  • 1/2 cups vegetable shortening, for the layer
  • 1 egg white, for the layer
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa, for the layer
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, for the layer

Heat the water without it boiling. Make a "volcano" with the flour and half the sugar.
Stir the yeast with ¼ cup of hot water.
Add the flour, half of margarine and 2 eggs until you have a homogeneous mixture.
Knead the mixture, then let it rest by covering it with a damp cloth for about 1 hour.
On the other hand mix the sugar, flour, eggs, margarine and milk.
After having a homogeneous mass, mix the two masses.
Put the dough in the container and cover it with a damp cloth.
Let the dough rest for 3 hours or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
In a bowl place the sugar, butter and flour and stir well.
Divide the mixture in two parts, in one place the teaspoon of vanilla and in the other the teaspoon of cocoa.
When the dough has doubled in size, knead and separate into balls of about 30 grams and give them a circular shape.
Grease the trays, place the balls separating them with 5 cm.
Coat the balls with the egg white. Put a layer of cocoa or vanilla paste on top, with the help of a knife, divide the mixture into squares.
Rest the shells for approximately 1 hour to double the size.
Bake the shells for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, wait for them to cool down and enjoy them.
