This recipe is for making Colombian arepas; They are a very traditional dish that is also consumed in different countries of South America. You can fill them with different ingredients, depending on what you like most.

Ingredients

25 portions
  • 1 1/2 kilos cornmeal, white
  • 350 grams butter
  • 1 liter Water, hot
  • 20 grams salt
  • 20 grams sugar
  • 600 grams cream cheese, or mozzarella

Preparation

Heat the water until it boils.
Mix all ingredients except water.
Add the water while you knead the mixture.
Serves in 150 gram balls.
Divide the balls in two.
Make a dough for the bottom of the round mold, place the cheese in the center and cover with the rest of the dough.
Place on a previously greased hot iron plate.
Asa and enjoy.

TIPS

Use latex gloves to avoid burning yourself with boiling water.
