These delicious hotcakes with a lion's face are ideal to start the morning with children. They are fluffy, soft and accompanied by a delicious peach syrup that children will love. It is a perfect and easy to make breakfast.

Ingredients

8 portions
  • 1 teaspoon apple vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 cups vegetal oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 peaches, for the syrup
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 cups sugar, For the syrup
  • 1 cup peach juice
  • 1 cup strawberry
  • 1 carrot, Optional
  • 1/4 cups blueberry
  • 1/4 cups raspberry
  • 4 peaches, To decorate

Preparation

Mix the apple cider vinegar with the milk and let stand for 10 minutes. This is to separate the whey from the milk which will help make the hotcakes more fluffy.
Place the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, milk with vinegar and oil in the blender. Blend until you have a homogeneous mass.
Add the egg and liquefy again. Add the vegetable oil in the form of yarn while still liquefying. Once incorporated all the ingredients let stand for 10 minutes.
Grease a hot pan with a little butter and pour a ladle of the mixture. Let cook for 3 minutes or until bubbles come out on the surface. Flip the hotcake to cook on the other side. Repeat until making the whole dough.
For the peach syrup, peel the peaches and liquefy them with 2 tablespoons of water. Strain the mixture to remove the pulp.
Place the sugar, water and peach juice in a pot. Leave on medium heat and move constantly. Once the sugar has been diluted, cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Remove from the fire and let cool.
Cut the strawberries into slices, peel the carrot and cut it into thin strips. Cut the remaining peaches in half.
Place one or two pieces of hotcakes on a plate and arrange the strawberries and carrots around to form the melana. Place the peach in half to create the mouth, use the blueberries for the eyes and a raspberry to form the nose.
Accompany with peach syrup.
