Heat the milk and butter in a saucepan to medium-low, until it releases a light boil. Cook, stirring frequently, until the milk thickens and reduces by half, around 20 minutes. Remove from heat, add 1/4 cup of grated coconut, stir well and cool a little. Pass it to a bowl filled with butter and refrigerate until it has completely cooled (2 hours approx.)
Grease the hands with a little butter and form small balls of a spoonful. Pass them through the grated coconut, chocolate or whatever you want to decorate them.
