Preparation
Prepare two large baking sheets with waxed paper.
In a large pot, mix the sugar, salt, butter and 1 cup of water.
Cook for 15 minutes, making sure to mix continuously with a wooden spoon. The mixture will turn into a thick caramel.
Quickly remove the caramel from the oven and add the sodium bicarbonate. This will make the candy begin to bubble and so it will cool faster.
Immediately add the popcorn to the caramel and mix well with the wooden spoon.
Sprinkle popcorn with caramel on the baking sheets and allow to cool.
As soon as it is cold with your hands cut into small pieces.
Stir caramelized popcorn with corn candy, pretzels (cut) and chocolate chips.
