Preparation
Start by mixing butter, brown sugar and corn syrup in a pot. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has melted.
Add flour, spices and salt to the pot, mix and remove from heat.
Add the baking powder and the miatd of the species. Mix well.
Add the egg and the other half of the mixed species to obtain a soft dough.
Place the dough on a sheet of aluminum foil or waxed paper and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
Preheats the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Prepare a tray for baking cookies with vegetable spray.
Take the dough and divide it into two. With a roller flatten the first half on a surface with a little flour so that the dough does not stick.
With a cookie cutter in the shape of stars and / or saplings cut the cookies. Place the cookies on the baking tray with space between them. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool and stiffen.
To decorate the cookies mix the icing sugar with lemon juice and water. Use this glaze to join two cookies with a ribbon in the middle so you can hang them or decorate the cookies.
