Ingredients

12 portions
  • 3/4 cups guava, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 1/2 rajas cinnamon
  • 2 star anise
  • 2 tablespoons Splenda Sugar Blend®
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Water, cool
  • 12 discs for empanada
  • 1 cup oil

Preparation

Mix the guava, water, cinnamon, anise and Splenda Sugar Blend® in a pot. Bring to a boil.
Add the starch in the cold water until it dissolves completely and add to the guava mixture, stir constantly until it thickens. Remove from the fire and let cool.
With the help of a rolling pin, spread the empanada discs so that they are thin and fry in hot oil until they are golden, absorb the grease with absorbent paper.
Serve the fritters with guava honey.
