This recipe for cinnamon rolls take puff pastry and they only take like 30 minutes to prepare.

  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cups walnut, chopped into large pieces
  • 490 rajas puff pastry, purchased
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and at room temperature
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisin, optional
  • flour


Preheat oven to 390 F (200 C). Put a muffin tray on a tray with baking paper on top (this is because the roles can overflow and get dirty).
In an electric mixer , mix 12 tablespoons of butter and add 1/3 cup of brown sugar, beat until a dough forms. Put 1 tablespoon of the mixture in each muffin pan. Sprinkle with a little bit of walnut on top.
Put the puff pastry (very cold) on a flat surface with flour, and varnish with the melted butter (leaving an edge of 2 cms at the sides). Put on top of half of the puff pastry 1/3 cup of brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1/2 cup of raisins. Roll the puff very tight
Cut the edges of the roll and cut 6 equal pieces. Put the spiral up on top of the muffin tray.
Repeat the two previous steps with the rest of the puff pastry.
Bake for 30 minutes until the roles are golden brown and firm. (Beware that they are very hot). Let cool for 5 minutes on a tray with waxed paper.
If you like you can put on them a white glaze prepared with about 3-4 spoons of milk and 2 cups of icing sugar.


Beware that you can burn the sugar of the roles so you must watch them in the oven!
