  • 2 cups flour, for the cake
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 500 grams chocolate frosting, dark (for bitumen)
  • 1 stick cream cheese, (for bitumen)
  • 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, (for bitumen)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, (for bitumen)
  • 1/2 teaspoons liquid vanilla, (for bitumen)


For the Cake: Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
Mix the baking powder, flour and salt.
Beat egg whites together with milk.
Beat the butter until you achieve a creamy consistency.
Add the sugar to the butter gradually and when it is well mixed add the vanilla.
Add the mixture of the dry ingredients in 3 parts, altering with the mixture of the eggs. Mix until all the ingredients are incorporated.
Place in a buttered and floured mold.
Cook 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
For the Bitumen: Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and temper.
Beat the butter together with the cream cheese until a creamy consistency is achieved.
Add the icing sugar, chocolate and vanilla. Beat until you achieve the desired consistency.
When the cake is cold cover with the bitumen.


For decoration you can use sliced ​​almonds. These you can toast in a pan with a little sugar to give them shine and a sweeter flavor.


For best results, butter, cream cheese, milk and eggs should be at room temperature. It is very important that the melted chocolate is tempered because if you put it hot it will melt the mixture of butter and cream cheese.
