Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375ºF. In a bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, stir. Add milk, butter and vanilla and beat with electric mixer at low speed until well incorporated.
Add eggs and beat 2 more minutes. Put the mixture in 2 equal round molds of 22 cms in diameter, previously greased with butter and flour. Bake for 25 or 30 minutes.
After this time check that they are well cooked by inserting a toothpick into the cakes, it should come out dry. Put the molds on an oven rack for 10 minutes. Then unmold them and let cool in the grids.
Put a cake on the platter, cover it with the jam and put the other layer of cake on top. Sprinkle icing sugar with a strainer on top.
