Romance, political intrigue and lust are ingredients of the excellent film Chocolat, starring the great Juliette Binoche and the charismatic Johnny Deep. And just like in the movie, these small and delicious black chocolate truffles will give you a taste of the delicious pleasures that life offers us.

Ingredients

36 portions
  • 16 tablespoons unsalted butter, (240 grams approx) at room temperature
  • 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 60 grams bitter chocolate, molten
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons espresso coffee, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups oats
  • 1 cup grated coconut

Preparation

Combine butter, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Use a hand mixer to beat at medium speed until the mixture turns pale and fluffy (between 1 and 2 minutes).
Add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder, coffee and vanilla. Continue beating until they are integrated, approximately 1 more minute.
Place the oats in a food processor until crushed, more or less press 5 times or 10 seconds.
Add the oatmeal to the mixture of chocolate and butter, stir well; Refrigerate until the preparation cools, about 1 hour.
Divide the chocolate mixture into 36 servings using a medium spoon; shape balls and pass each one for a dish with grated coconut.
Place truffles on a tray and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

PRESENTATION

Place the truffles in small red pots.
