Ingredients

4 portions
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • salt
  • 1/2 cups Water

Preparation

Peel the bananas, and cut them into small pieces.
Put the cinnamon sticks in the pieces of bananas. Put them in a thick-bottomed cauldron, cover them with sugar, add margarine, salt, vanilla extract and water.
Cook over medium heat and stir regularly until almost all the liquid has evaporated and only the syrup remains.
Serve immediately.

TIPS

The bananas must be well ripe, with almost black skin, soft inside. You can replace the vanilla extract with rum, as long as the dessert is not going to be consumed by children.
