Caramel apples are a simple recipe to make and delicious for this Christmas season.

Ingredients

8 portions
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 8 apples, medium
  • 1/2 cups walnut, chopped and toasted
  • 200 grams chocolate, melted

Preparation

Put waxed paper on a tray and apply butter to the paper.
Wash the apples and insert the wooden stick into them from the stem side.
In a saucepan add the thermometer and put the butter, corn syrup, brown sugar and milk, bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Stir slowly until the thermometer reads 248ºC.
Remove the pot from the heat and add the vanilla extract.
Dip each apple in the caramel and later in the walnut.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and drizzle the chocolate on the apples.
Put the apples on top of the wax paper and wait until the chocolate cools (put them in the refrigerator for a few minutes).

PRESENTATION

Decorate your apples with a ribbon by making a bow on them.

TIPS

You can substitute the walnut for almond or some other ingredient of your liking.
