Strawberries Romanof

This dessert is originally from London, the chef of the Carlton Hotel, but it was put in fashion by Michael Romanoff, a Russian chef and actor who had a very famous restaurant on Rodeo Drive (Los Angeles).


4 portions
  • 1 kilo strawberry
  • 1/2 cups whipped cream, sour
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 orange
  • 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier orange liqueur, or Cointreau
  • 100 milliliters liquid whipping cream, to mount
  • 3 tablespoons refined sugar
  • 1 bunch peppermint


First of all, in a bowl, we mix the sour cream, the brown sugar and the orange liqueur. Squeeze the orange and mix with the liquor. We reserve
In another bowl, we mount the cream with the help of a rod, when it has been assembled, we add the white sugar. We continue beating until it has a firm consistency. Add the sour cream mixture and continue mixing until you get a homogeneous sauce.
Wash the strawberries, then remove the tails and cut them in half. Reseve some integers to decorate.
We put in a cup a few layers of strawberries and other Romanoff sauce alternately.
Decorate with some mint leaves and serve.


If you remove the tail before washing the strawberries, they get water and lose flavor. It's a great dessert when the strawberries are at their point.

Srta. Violeta, la verdad es que sí. Pero si en vez de en unas copas lo preparas en unos vasitos alargados tipo chupitos, te puede quedar como un refrigerio muy elegante y poco pesado de comer.
