A typical dish from southern Mexico. The plantain tostones is a traditional Mexican recipe, which can not be missing to accompany a stew or a rice dish with beans. The fried plantains is a very tasty preparation.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 4 plantains, green
  • oils, to fry quantity needed
  • salt, to taste

Preparation

Cut slices of banana 2 or 3 centimeters thick, fry in hot oil.
Once you have all your pieces of banana, squash them (one by one, do not turn them into a puree) to make an omelet, add salt and fry again.

PRESENTATION

You can use them as if they were toast, to accompany a rich green salad.

TIPS

Use only green bananas as these do not contain as much sugar.

Mi mamá cortaba los plátanos y los pasaba por agua salada antes de freirlos, así ya no se le agrega sal.
