If you still don't know how to make a cheese flan, this recipe will be your best ally, since its step by step is simple and only consists of 8 ingredients. The main characteristic of flan is prepared with egg, milk and sugar. It is cooked in a bain-marie and caramel is added. For this cheesy version, we used delicious double cream cheese, with a creamy consistency and an exquisite flavor. Enjoy it as a dessert for any special moment.

Ingredients

8 portions
  • 1 cup sugar, for the candy
  • enough butter, to grease the mold
  • 2 cups double cream cheese, 500 g
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup condensed milk, 306 g
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup evaporated milk, 245 g
  • enough caramel, to decorate

Preparation

For the caramel, pour the sugar over a saucepan over medium heat, be sure to stir with a wooden spoon; little by little it will begin to turn brown and become liquid. When it is liquid and thick enough, remove from heat.
Grease a baking dish with butter. Pour the hot caramel, spread throughout the mold and reserve.
Preheat the oven to 190 ° C.
Blend the double cream cheese with the eggs, the condensed milk, the cornstarch, the vanilla and the evaporated milk until you get a homogeneous mixture. Pour the mixture over the caramel mold, cover with aluminum foil and place on a tray with water. Bake in a double boiler for 50 minutes, at 190 ° C. Chill.
Unmold and decorate with caramel.

PRESENTATION

You can play with the candy and make decorations with it, just use a tray and a spoon, spread it in the form of a thread and let it dry.

TIPS

If you want the flan to have a smoother texture, strain it before pouring over the caramel container.
