This apple flip cake is a delicious and practical recipe that is very easy to make, and also requires few ingredients that you will easily find in your cupboard. This flipped cake will help you show off to any guest.

8 portions
  • 4 cups Flour for Traditional Hot Cakes Three Stars®, 500 g
  • 1/2 cups sugar, 60 g
  • 1/4 cups butter, molten, 60 ml
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 7 ml
  • 2 1/2 cups milk, 725 ml
  • 1/2 cups refined sugar, 60 g, for caramel
  • 4 apples, Granny Smith, shelled, cut into thick segments
  • 1/4 cups butter, cut into small cubes
  • enough peppermint, to decorate

For the smoothie, in a large bowl place the Three Star® Traditional Hot Cakes Flour together with the sugar, the melted butter, the egg and the vanilla essence, beat with the help of an electric hand mixer and gradually pour the whole milk, without stopping to beat and until everything is perfectly integrated. Reservation.
In a clean and completely dry frying pan, where you will prepare the cake, place the sugar and distribute over the entire surface. Heat over low heat to form a slightly golden caramel, for about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the caramel warm.
Place the apple wedges on top of the warm caramel close to each other, simulating the petals of a flower. It is important to note that the caramel must be warm when placing the apples, so that when it cools completely, the apple remains adhered to the bottom of the pan. If you notice that the caramel is no longer warm, reheat the pan for a few minutes. When you finish placing the apples, let cool and reserve until use.
To finish the cake, once the apple is cold with the caramel, place the butter cubes on top and distribute throughout the bottom. Then pour the smoothie mixture until you fill ¾ of the pan.
Place on the stove over low heat and cover. Cook the cake for 1 hour. You can lean on placing a broiler pan or pan to avoid having a direct fire in the cooking. It is very important that you check the temperature and that you use a thick frying pan and that it distributes the heat well.
Remove the cake from the heat and let cool. Flip the cake out of the pan and garnish with mint leaves.

Garnish with mint.

Cook the cake over low heat in a thick, nonstick skillet that distributes heat well.
