Merengue for Economic Cake

This merengue is super economical and delicious, so you can have a complement for your cakes in the most simple and delicious way you can imagine.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of sugar
  • 8 pieces of egg white at room temperature
  • 2 spoonfuls of lemon juice

    Preparation

    Add egg whites, lemon juice and 500 g of sugar to a glass bowl (preferred).
    In a water bath, dilute the sugar with the egg whites. (For nothing in the world the water should touch the bowl, this can cause the egg to start cooking and that will ruin the meringue)
    When there is no trace of sugar, turn off the stove and proceed to beat at medium speed until the bowl cools (you must have patience).
    When the bowl cools at full speed. To know that the merengue is ready, you can carefully turn the bowl, if it starts to slide it is not ready and it should continue beating.
    Once the merengue is no longer dropped; It is ready to be used.

    TIPS

    Do not let the water in the water bath touch the bowl. The eggs should be at room temperature. Use a glass bowl or the pedestal mixer . You can add a tablespoon of meringue powder for best results or two tablespoons of baking powder. You can change the lemon juice for vanilla or melted chocolate.
