If you're a fan of cookies, these rich tasting Mexican flag cookies are for you. Crunchy and with a delightful butter flavor, ideal for breakfast served with a delicious glass of milk. For the World Cup or the Patriotic Month they are an excellent option as they are in the form of a Mexican flag.

Ingredients

15 portions
  • 1 stick butter, (90 g)
  • 1/2 cups vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • to taste green coloring
  • to taste Red food dye
  • 15 chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. (356°F)
With a blender, add the butter, shortening and sugar.
Add the egg and vanilla and beat until incorporated.
Add salt and flour little by little, beat until you have a homogeneous mass.
Divide the dough into three bowls, add one green dye and another red dye.
Give rectangular shape to the three masses, stick with egg yolk and wrap with non-stick plastic, freeze for 10 minutes.
Cut the cookies, and place them in a previously floured and greased tray. Place a sparkle of chocolate in the center to simulate the national emblem.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Cool and enjoy

PRESENTATION

Serve with a glass of milk

Están muy ricas las galletas, perfectas para una tarde lluviosa de Septiembre. Hay que cuidar que los 3 colores queden bien unidos antes de congelar para que al hornearse, no se separen. =)
